korganizer stops syncing

Korganizer 4.13.3 will silently stop syncing after some time. It is embarrasing to miss appointments because of unreliable software. The problem has occured again right now, 2 days after the stopgap fix.

Symptoms and error messages:
If you select the calendar in Korganizer and press F5 to force a sync, you get "Before syncing folder "$Memotoo-Calendar" it is necessary to have the resource online. Do you want to make it online?" However, nothing gets updated, even if you click yes.

At least, there is an error message tucked away under menu "Einstellungen" (settings) -> "KOrganizer einrichen" (settings for korganizer) -> "Allgemein" (general) -> "Kalender" (calendar accounts) -> panel for the memotoo account. It reads: 'Bei der Abfrage ist ein Problem aufgetreten. Der Eintrag wurde auf dem Server nicht erstellt. Bei der Aktion " https://sync.memotoo.com/calDAV/2_43folders/7c1e14c9-7291-4f76-2b47a1116ea2.ics hochladen" ist der unerwartete Fehler 401 aufgetreten. (401)'

Known non-solutions:
Others have had the same problem, and the only stopgap fix is to delete the memotoo account, re-create it, and wait for the error to happen again:
