Contacts Merging not actually merging selected contacts

I have 7 contacts in my list named Mette Andersen, but with 2 different middle names

I can search for the contacts and select 4 item and select to merge them (all selected have the same middle names).

I do the merge and choose Save.

No the merge is done based on names and I can sometimes not merge because other contacts exists that have this name, and sometimes the merge isdone but the unselected contacts are affected as well and data from the merged contacts get published to the other contacts as well.

Could you please stick to the selected items and not worry about the other ones - otherwise it does not make any sence that I can actually select anything for a merge.
