As another user noted there is a bug with calender event syncs. I don't use alarms but when I create an event in Calender on my Mac it gets synchronized to iCloud and from there to memotoo. Between my Mac and iCloud everything is fine but once the events get to memotoo they all get an alarm. Time varies between 15hours to one day in advance. This is true for all events so I have to manually turn them off again which is a pita. Imagine a full calender and my phone going off all the time.
I'm using calender on a mac with OSX 10.8.2 and iCloud.

Ok now it works even creating events without alarm in your Mac
