Email Reminders from the Calendar aren't working

On my calendar I have an Event called "Karlsruher Fiducia Baden-Marathon und LBS Halbmarathon." with the start date 23-09-2012 during all day long. The alarm is set to start 1 day before the events begins.

Although I still receive the birthdays reminders, I didn't received any email related to the above event last Saturday. I have already checked the spam folder and I believe this error might be happening since the start of the month, because I couldn't find any email related to an calendar event in my mailbox.

I would like to ask you if this is a bug or if there is something I have to set up in the configuration to make it activate the email reminders.
