Clicking calendar category always returns to default view

When I click a calendar category on the left, the calendar always returns to the normal view (day, week, month, year) even when one of the other tabs ("Events being scheduled", "Near events", "All events") is active, however the tab itself still displays itself as active only it isn't at that time.

Suggestion: clicking a calendar category should not navigate away from the current view.
For example: I am watching "Near events" and I want to filter out my category "Work" from displaying, so I click that category. The view is then returned to normal (week view in my case) and I have to reactive the "Near events" tab (which still displayed as active though). The "Work" category is indeed filtered out after this, but it would be much better if it would not jump back to normal view first, and instead hide the events of that category instantly.
