So, I got tired of fooling with it contact by contact...
What I did is in GMail, I used their export feature to make a backup of my contacts.
Then, in memotoo I deleted every single contact I had. Then, I sync'd with GMail. All the contacts from GMail disappeared but 3. I looked back at memotoo, it still had 0 contacts. I sync'd with GMail again. Same thing. 3 contacts in GMail, 0 in memotoo.
So, I deleted the 3 remaining contacts in GMail.
Then, I imported my contacts back into GMail from the backup I made in the first step.
Then, I sync'd memotoo and GMail. It turns out that all contacts did sync between the two. However, all the contacts in GMail that were in the GMail pre-made groups (Family, Friends, Co-workers) only showed up in their groups in Memotoo. They didn't show up in what Memotoo seems to call "[top]". I would expect them to show up in Memotoo's "[top]" because they were in GMail's "My Contacts", not just in their pre-made group.
In addition to the pre-made groups, I had made two groups of my own, Restaurants and Services. All the contacts in these groups did show up on Memotoo in their group and in [top], as I would expect.
So, trying to fix how none of the contacts in GMail's pre-made groups showed up in Memotoo's [top], I went into the Memotoo group "GMail Family" and added all these contacts to "[top]". This worked fine.
So, I sync'd Memotoo with GMail again. Back in GMail, every single contact I've got has been duplicated. All of them. Not just the ones in GMail Family or the ones in Restaurants, but all of them. Every single contact.
I gave your service a good try, but unfortunately it just doesn't seem ready for prime-time. It's not even ready for beta-testing yet. You guys have support for syncing with all these applications, but you don't even have GMail working really well yet? GMail has got to be your most frequently used service you sync with...
But, I'm just frustrated because I've spent way too long today fussing with Memotoo. You guys really do seem to have the start of a great service. You've just got a little more work to do.
