Skip to the bottom for a short version

So I think 2 issues here, one could well be Nokia's cause though.

So I am testing out Memotoo as ScheduleWorld was ok, but now charging [more than Memotoo] I thought Memotoo would be money better spent.

So far so good apart from:

I setup my Nokia N95 to "To Server Only" Sync my calendar so as to not write anything to my calendar on my phone [3 years of data there]
It sent fine, all showing up online and in Thunderbird Lightning. Got the warning about too exceeding my Event limit.
I noticed my timezone was not set, so set that to +10, where I am. So now in doing a new sync, I see the times of everything is back about 10 hours I am guessing in online calendar. So did another sync to send them again, correctly, but doesn't accept any besides the first [50?] few from 2006 and it wrote to my phones calendar the entries with this bogus time offset.
I have noticed this with ScheduleWorld, so perhaps Nokia's "To serveronly" setting does nothing and it is in fact a both ways sync.
So with this though, Memotoo shouldn't have effected all my Event times when I changed my timezone, or gave a warning/option to effect all of my entries and/or a way to offset the time on ALL of my Events in my Calendar to fix such a problem.

Short version starts here.......

So I think 2 issues here, one could well be Nokia's cause though.

Problem 1
Selecting "to server only" rather than "to phone only" or "both ways" doesn't seem to work with my Nokia N95. It may be a problem with Nokia and not Memotoo though.

Problem 2
In correcting the timezone in my Preferences on Memotoo, ALL of my Calendar Events were offset by the adjusted amount. So I had meetings at 1am-3am etc [I assume its a 10hour offset as I set the timezone to +10]
This is then written to the phone etc.

So with this, I think, Memotoo shouldn't have affected all my Event times when I changed my timezone, or gave a warning/option to change all of my entries and/or a way to offset the time on ALL of my Events in my Calendar to fix such a problem.

Hi Dave

For the problem1, when you start the first sync with Memotoo, Memotoo request a slow sync (in the 2 ways) and ignore your request in one way. I will try to correct this.

For the problem2, normally you define the timezone before to sync (now it's when you open an account) and if you have synced the calendar the timezone has been applied and problem.
Do you want I modify all your events and apply the good timezone ???

Thanks Thomas. I didn't know about this response; I am making sure to tick to receive an email on response now.

I found this thread again doing a search for "google memotoo sync timezone" or so as I just set up my N900 with Syncevlution with the Wiki page we discussed in the other thread.

I wanted to sync my google calendar back to Memotoo as I have been using google with nuevasync while I couldn't get memotoo working.
In doing this, all new calednar events from google came through about 10 hours behind, so GMT time.
I checked both Google and Memotoo are set for me being in Sydney, Australia.

So it seems google works off GMT time in their DB and adds the timezone difference to the user according to their selection.

Has Google > Memotoo been an issue for anyone else??

Thanks Thomas.

And yes. fixing problem 1 would be good for all other new users who try to use your service. Ignoring behind the scenes is a terrible idea based on my experiences...

Also, how do I import a backup of my calendar, removing all events in current calendar before the import begins?
I hope that makes sense?
I want to have an empty calendar to import my backup into.

EDIT: Ok I found I could select all Event and delete them.
Did that and imported my backup from last night [automated through a cron job] and it imported 20 events!!
I had 200+ in my calendar!!
So the backup isn't much of a backup??

Now I need to try and get all those calendar events back from the test run on my N900.....

Now what is the situation ?
Because I have seen you have 209 events in your calendar and the hours look good ?
