I realize that it would probably be a pretty huge programmatic undertaking to support multiple calendars within a given account (in order to support synching multiple google calendars, or calendars to select device categories) -- but perhaps there is a half-way point that would be easier:

how about a calendar feed that would only list the items in a given category?

If the category is specified as an URL parameter, then the user could have multiple Google calendars and pull the data for each one via a series of category-based feeds from their single MemoToo calendar. I'm not sure whether it would be as easy to support 2-way CalDAV for this, but read-only .ics sharing should not be too hard.

is there any chance of getting this?

It is basically just an extension of the calendar feed that is already in place - we would add a category parameter to the query string, and the resulting feed would be filtered to include only those items. The back-end data model would not change at all.
