Me again, looking for a replacement for my Soocial app and account.
Outlook's Contacts categories appear as Groups in Memott, which is great.
Will I be able yo see them as Groups in my iPhone Contacts app as well?

Yes you can find all your contacts group in your iPhone with CardDAV sync:

For example:

My iPhone is blocked at OS 4.1.
Meaning I have to use Funambol. Correct?
Will I ran into limitations regarding sync with this configuration?

Tests results
Sync between Memotoo and Outlook 2010, using Funambul, seems to be working pretty well.
BUT neither FunV10 and SyncML Lite seems to be handling Groups in the iPhone.
Unless there is some internal setup I do not know about.
My OS is 4.1. Any clue?

Thanks for your answer
but I am a bit surprised that a paying service offering sync across platforms and devices (including iPhone) is not sure about the answer to this question.
For what it is worth Soocial can do it.
Not sure where to go fromt here.

For this specific ask "Contacts Groups in iPhone" and "iOS 4.1" (actually iOS 6.1.8) and not use "CardDAV sync", it is difficult to answer you correctly because I have not an iPhone in all version, and I can not test for you...
Sorry Denis.

Tim,

If you have iphone iOS 5.1, use CardDAV and CalDAV sync they work fine;

And yes you can sync with Outlook 2007 with Funambol/OneMediaHub plugin:

OK so now I replaced my old 3GS with an iPhone 4S.
I did not like the way iCloud interacts with my Outlook 2010 and I decided to give Memotoo another try.
My first sync, between Outlook and Memotoo, worked perfectly.
My 2nd one was a pleasant surprise: my Contact Categories were synched with my GMail Apps Pro Contact Groups, something I've never been able to do.
But I cannot create the CardDAV account in my iPhone, I don't know why.
I am supposed to use my user ID and pasword from Memotoo, isn't it?
I completely fail to see my mistake.

My username and my password are OK. Maybe I should logout from Memotoo before trying to create the account in my iPhone?

OK never mind. I changed my password and suddenly it worked.
