Thunderbird Thunderbird 3 / Funambol - many duplicates created on full refreshRSS Feed

I have previously synced Thunderbird 3.0.5 / Funambol 8.5.4 on Linux with Memotoo, but wanted to do a complete refresh of Thunderbird from Memotoo. So I set Memotoo to do a full 'Memotoo overwrites Thunderbird' - result is many duplicates, maybe 30-50% of all contacts are duplicated, with anywhere from 1 to 4 copies of the original. These duplicates don't exist on Memotoo or on Outlook synced with Memotoo, and I didn't get duplicates over several rounds of syncing.

The main change since I had non-duplicate syncs is that I have synced a lot of contacts via Outlook (originally on a Treo 680, synced with Keysuite which is a PDA app that emulates Outlook closely). The Treo to Outlook sync went fine and generated only a few duplicates due to real mis-matches, and this data synced up to Memotoo and then via Memotoo to Gmail without problems.

I also tried a full refresh after deleting all Thunderbird contacts. It seems that Funambol is generating these duplicates.

What's the best way to uninstall and re-install Funambol, and do you have any suggestions on why this is happening?

Any recommendations for a better Thunderbird plugin?

I'm having the same Problem.
(WinXP SP2, TB3, N900 with SyncEvolution)

When i want to overwrite my whole TB-calendar with the Memotoo-data, the Funambol Plug-In doesn't delete all the entries before adding the Memotoo-calendar.
That way, most (strangely not all) of my entries are duplicated right now
